What is the Site C Dam Project?

The image above is a rendering, or artist's picture, of what the Site C dam will look like once completed. The proposed project will be a third, hydroelectric dam build in the Peace River valley of northeast British Columbia. Because it uses hydro, or water, energy to create electricity, it will be a clean energy project. It was approved by the Province of B.C. on December 16, 2014. The above map shows the proposed Site C Dam site on the eastern side of the map (green labels). The Peace River has two additional dams that
are already built; the W.A.C. Bennett Dam and the Peace Canyon Dam, which provide electricity to BC residents.
